Abstract
We observe reduced attenuation of broadband (>80nm, 100fs-1ps)) optical pulses when propagating >1m distances in distilled water. Simulations indicate that the reduced attenuation of the light is associated with the simultaneous formation of optical precursors (Sommerfeld and Brillouin).
