Fourier Transform Spectrometry: the SNR disadvantage of the multiplex architecture

Abstract

Recent works revealed unexpected theoretical bounds to the radiometric performance of FTS. These findings, regarding the SNR of FTS as assessed in the interferogram and the spectral domains, are summarized and validated by experimental results.
