Ground-based remote sensing of the cloudy atmosphere - towards an all-encompassing retrieval algorithm

Abstract

An integrated retrieval technique for simultaneously determining the thermodynamic profile of the atmosphere together with the macro-/and micro-physical properties of liquid clouds is presented. The method provides an uncertainty estimate of the retrieved products, which is confirmed using independent radiosonde measurements.
