New Approaches to Modeling and Calibrating Imaging Fourier Transform Spectrometers

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

A central challenge in the design and evaluation of Imaging Fourier transform spectrometers (IFTS) is the development of analytic and statistical instrument models that can be used to perform parametric instrument trades and generate synthetic scenes and hypercubes. Combined with Monte Carlo simulation methods and Baysian reconstruction techniques, such models can demonstrate the calibratability and performance of IFTS systems and offaxis instrumental line shape performance, a key parameter in demonstrating radiometric performance.
