A Free Electron Laser driven by Laser Plasma Acceleration

Abstract

Ongoing efforts towards a compact free electron laser based on laser-plasma acceleration (LPA) are presented. Recent results [van Tilborg (PRL 2015) and Steinke (Nature, accepted)] demonstrate compact transport and support LPA-based FEL design and simulations.
