First results of the new experimental set-up of the ELSA linac X-Ray Inverse Compton Source and of an optical beam path folding system to improve X photon yield

Abstract

A new Inverse Compton Source with a new setup is under development to produce 30ps X-ray pulses. An energy upgrade is in progress and a beam folding system was developed to reach the 1018 ph/s/cm2 aimed brightness. The first results are presented.
