Abstract

We present a hybrid metamolecule design based on the existing fishscale [1] and split ring resonator [2] (SRR) designs. Finite element modelling (FEM) predicted a fishscale resonance at around 16 GHz which could be enhanced by the introduction of SRRs. This behaviour was then experimentally verified. FEM also predicted bidrectional emission at resonance, with a peak value of around 5.9 dBi.
