Abstract

In many versatile systems in nature and in engineering devices and systems, synchronization and chaos are important phenomena connected to periodic signals [1,2]. For example, injection locking of lasers is of fundamental importance, and stability, instability, and chaos in such systems have been thoroughly studied from basic and practical perspectives [1]. In addition, rather than suppressing such chaotic behaviour in lasers, the phenomenon can be exploited by applications that secure data communications [3]. In associated research, optical random-number generators (RNGs) were intensively investigated [4].
