Abstract

Optomechanical devices consisting of a cavity light field, coupled via radiation pressure to a mechanical element that can freely oscillate, are good canditates to observe quantum phenomena in mesoscopic systems. Cooling to the ground state, squeezing of the mechanical element and the light field, optomechanical induced transparency, mechanical superposition states, etc are quantum effects that have been reported both theoretically and experimentally. In this context, we present a method for the generation of squeezed light in an optomechanical cavity, topic of great interest as shown by the publication of the first experimental realizations in this kind of devices [1, 2].
