Abstract

In the last few years, considerable effort has been devoted to the miniaturization of quantum information technology on semiconductor chips. In this context the exploitation of parametric down conversion (PDC) in AlGaAs waveguides to fabricate integrated sources of entangled photons presents several advantages: high nonlinear susceptibility and well-mastered growth technique, room-temperature operation and high emission directionality in the telecom range.
