Abstract

The Coupled Resonator Optical Waveguides (CROW) [1] and Side-Coupled Integrated Spaced Sequence of Resonators (SCISSOR) [2] are of interest due to their unique optical characteristics [3] and various potential applications [4]. In this work coupled disc silica micro resonators of different layouts are investigated. Depending on coupling strength the intensity tends to concentrate in one micro resonator, which can be qualitatively explained within the scopes of a developed theoretical model.
