Abstract

We have designed and analysed achromatic solar concentrators based on the planar optical theory to miniaturize its longitudinal dimensions. Such an achromatic solar concentrator (ASC) consists of both reflection parabolic mirrors which locate on the both sides of one substrate. The calculated results have demonstrated that the ASC is an achromatic, aberration-less optical system and has thinner volume compared with the conventional solar concentrator.
