Using Optical Scintillation to Measure Airflow for Stack and Duct

Abstract

This paper describes the theory of temporal cross-correlation of optical scintillation signal to calculate the airflow velocity across ducts. This path-averaged measurement technology has been verified by NIST Wind Tunnel and industry case studies.
