Slotted single-mode lasers for monolithic photonic integration

Abstract

A single-mode laser structure suitable for monolithic photonic integration is presented. A low threshold, and a sidemode suppression ratio (SMSR) up to 52 dB have been predicted and realised for a 400 μm -long laser.
