Abstract

We demonstrate a measurement technique for frequency-resolved optical gating (FROG) using a parametric fiber mixer. A cascaded mixer using highly nonlinear fiber (HNLF) was used to characterize 2-ps optical pulses with accuracy exceeding that of conventional sampling instruments.
