Chromatic Dispersion Compensated Multimode Fibers for Data Communications

Abstract

Chromatic dispersion of 50µm multi-mode fibers will ultimately limit the reach and/or the speed of data communications. We propose and validate a new criterion that quantifies how chromatic dispersion can be compensated by modal dispersion in specifically designed fibers.
