Transmission of 115×100G PDM-8QAM-OFDM Channels with 4bits/s/Hz Spectral Efficiency over 10,181km

Abstract

Transmission of 11.5-Tb/s (115×120.5-Gb/s) is performed over 10,181km using PDM-8QAM-OFDM modulation, 60.6km hybrid fiber spans and EDFAs. Achieved spectral efficiency of 4b/s/Hz is the highest reported to date for WDM transmission over more than 10,000km.
