Abstract

We demonstrate error free transmission of a 128 x 8 split and 80 km long-reach dual-rate 10G-EPON system with the loss margin over 7.9 dB for ASE accumulation from other branches; a loss budget of over 69.5 dB is achieved by combining a ALC hybrid burst-mode optical fiber amplifier, an SOA pre-amplifier, and a 10G-EPON system.
