Abstract

We propose a method of spectral shaping at the transmitter to mitigate intra-channel nonlinear impairments. Experimental results exhibit 2dB increase of the optimal launch power and nonlinear tolerance enhancement with digital spectral shaping of a 50Gbps PM-iRZ-QPSK signal generated with a high-speed DAC-based transmitter over a 10,080km link.
