Modelling Ultrashort Laser Pulse Induced Optical Breakdown Plasmas in Kerr-Media

Abstract

While processing corneal tissue with focused ultrashort laser pulses streak-like alterations of tissue were found accompanying optical breakdown. Numerical calculations link the generated free electron density to the occurrence of breakdown and streaks.
