Abstract

Background oriented schlieren is a novel method for flow visualization, which has potential application on environmental researches, such as gas leakage monitoring. In order to improve its sensitivity, the random dots’ parameters of the background have been studied. And some flow visualization examples in the laboratory with the optimized background are shown.
