Photovoltaic Light Management with Ordered and Disordered Metal and Dielectric Nanostructures

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

Enhanced light absorption in thin solar cells is mediated by light trapping nanostructures that generate resonant modes in spectral regions where the absorber is ‘optically thin’. We discuss the role of ordered versus disordered nanostructures in light trapping.
