Abstract

Recent microoptical developments of a miniaturized endoscopic system and a cylindrical telescope (anamorphote) for beam shaping of a single mode diode laser use high and low numerical aperture focusing GRIN rod lenses and high numerical aperture focusing and diverging GRIN cylindrical lenses. Diffraction-limited high numerical aperture lenses (NA ≈ 0.5) are fabricated by thermal silver-sodium ion exchange, and low numerical aperture lenses (NA ≈ 0.2) are produced by thermal lithium-sodium ion exchange.
