Abstract
We describe a fabrication process which can be applied to the creation of periodically poled lithium niobate (PPLN) for the non-linear-optical generation of wavelengths from 460 nm to 4.3 microns. The requirements and properties of this process are reported, and its capabilities described both in terms of the physical structure and the non-linear-optical frequency conversion performance of the patterned-poled crystal.
