Abstract

The possibility of target-in-the-loop atmospheric sensing (TILAS) using a low-power laser transceiver and a retro-target attached into a flying drone for atmospheric turbulence profiling is discussed and demonstrated. The results of first field tests focusing on the influence of rotor downwash on the TILAS measurements are presented.
