Abstract

Mesh-based computer generated hologram (CGH) is a reasonable approach to represent and reconstruct three-dimensional (3D) objects because most of the computer graphics are also based on mesh. Many researches have been performed to improve the appearance of the 3D images reconstructed from the CGH but correct reflectance distribution in fully analytic method has not been investigated. In this paper, we propose a realization of correct reflectance distribution model with fast Fourier-transform in fully analytic mesh-based CGH. The reflection distribution enables the exact reconstruction of angular appearance variation of the reconstructed 3D object. In order to confirm the feasibility of the proposed method, the numerical and the optical reconstructions were carried out.
