Holographic microscopy of a weak scatterer: a swimming malaria microgamete

Abstract

Weakly-scattering subjects in digital holography may be quickly and accurately localized using the Gouy phase anomaly. We use this to reveal the full 3D geometry of swimming malaria microgametes for the first time.
