Abstract

This paper presents a theoretical and experimental comparison between digital Fresnel holography and digital image-plane holography. The role of the aperture diaphragm in image-plane holography is highlighted and figures of merit such as spatial resolution and sensitivity to decorrelation noise are discussed.
