Low Bit-rate Compression of Computer-Generated Fresnel Holograms based on Vector Quantization

Abstract

We propose a method for compressing computer-generated complex Fresnel hologram based on vector quantization. The compression ratio can exceed 1000 times, and still preserves acceptable visual quality on the reconstructed images.
