Abstract

The state-of-the art in room-temperature single (antibunched) photon sources is outlined including selection of single-photon emitters, comparison of plasmonic nanoantennas, photonic micro/nanocavities and metamaterials. Possibility of indistinguishable single photon generation at room temperature is discussed.
