Cavity quantum electrodynamics with semiconductor quantum dots

Abstract

By deterministically controlling the spontaneous emission of a single semiconductor quantum dot in a microcavity, we obtain ultrabright solid-state sources of indistinguishable single photons and demonstrate optical non-linearities at the few photon scale.
