Abstract

Turbulence-induced fading in free-space transmission of optical RZ-QPSK can be mitigated in homodyne detection via delay-diversity. A SNR gain of 2.6 dB is obtained using orthogonal polarizations with delay comparable to the turbulence correlation time.
