Digital Self-Coherent Detection and Mitigation of Transmission Impairments

Abstract

We review the techniques used in digital self-coherent detection for improvement of receiver sensitivity, recovery of multi-level phase and amplitude modulated signals, and mitigation of transmission impairments. Comparisons with digital coherent detection are also discussed.
