Polarization Estimation through Computational Sensing

Abstract

A computational approach for estimating the degree of polarization from the speckle fluctuations of total intensity data is proposed. Maximum likelihood estimators are studied, and their performances are compared to algebraic estimators and Cramer-Rao bounds.
