One-to-one coupling higher order modes in a fiber to higher order modes in silicon waveguide

Abstract

We demonstrate experimentally a mode converter between a silicon waveguide and a few-mode fiber compatible with mode-division multiplexing. We convert 4 TE modes of a silicon waveguide to the LP01,x, LP01,y, LP11a,x, LP11a,y modes of the fiber.
