Genetic Algorithm Optimization for Ultra-broadband Long-wave Infrared Seed Pulse Generation

Abstract

We demonstrate the production of broadband long-wave infrared pulses cen-tered near 10.3 μm using difference-frequency generation. An accompanying simulation shows that genetic algorithm optimization of chirp can significantly increase the spectral bandwidth.
