Controlling the Attenuation of Hollow Core Fibers Using Gas-Induced Differential Refractive Index

Abstract

We demonstrate significant confinement loss reduction in anti-resonant hollow-core fibers through refractive index changes induced by differential gas pressure filling of the core and cladding elements. In our fiber, loss reduces 2.8-fold at 1.3µm.
