500 GHz Plasmonic Mach-Zehnder Modulator

Abstract

We experimentally demonstrate a plasmonic modulator for sub-THz applications, featuring – at the same time – a short length of 10s of micrometers, high linearity, and a record-high flat frequency response beyond 500 GHz.
