Curvature Control in a Segmented Beam Expander -Emergence of a Semi-lens

Abstract

We introduce direct curvature control in optimizing a segmented beam expander that maintains width continuity. Unexpectedly, the optimization algorithm yields a structure with abrupt width discontinuity. Spatial phase analysis reveals the emergence of a semi-lens.
