Passive compensation of beam misalignment caused by air convection in thin-disk lasers

Abstract

We present a new approach to passively compensate for the misalignment instabilites caused by convection of heated ambient air in front of a thin-disk laser crystal by means of exploiting the spectral dispersion of a diffracting grating-waveguide mirror.
