Single-Shot Optical Recording with Sub-Picosecond Resolution Implementing a Differentiated Semiconductor Nonlinearity

Abstract

We demonstrate a novel optical recording method implementing carrier-based nonlinear optical phase response in semiconductors. The integrating carrier response is mitigated with an all-optical derivative technique. A 50 ps record with sub-ps resolution was demonstrated.
