Hybrid Atom-Membrane Optomechanics

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

We present a hybrid optomechanical system in which a membrane oscillator is coupled to ultracold atoms. We report cooling of the membrane vibrations due to its coupling to atoms and discuss perspectives for quantum control.
