Quantum Optomechanics with Micro- and Nano-Mirrors

Abstract

We introduce the main concepts of cavity optomechanics in which the quantum behaviour of mechanical systems is governed by radiation pressure of light. We present recent results obtained with micro-mirrors or with photonic-crystal nanomembranes.
