Crystallographic Orientation-Dependent Dynamics in Individual Silicon Nanowires

Abstract

Ultrafast optical microscopy was used to study carrier dynamics in individual Si nanowires with different crystallographic orientations. We found that the carrier lifetime in 〈h110〉-oriented nanowires increased with decreasing diameter, in contrast with previous observations.
