All-Fiber Mode-Locked Soliton Er-Lasers Employing Planar Lightwave Circuit (PLC) Devices

Abstract

We fabricate saturable absorbers and WDM/tap hybrid couplers using standard planar lightwave circuit (PLC) fabrication processes. The fabricated PLC devices are applied to mode-locked all-fiber lasers, which show long-term stable and self-starting operation.
