Microcavity Enhanced Second Harmonic Generation in 2D Semiconductors

Abstract

Second harmonic generation (SHG) from a monolayer MoS2 is enhanced by embedding within an all-dielectric microcavity resonant at the pump wavelength. Power dependency shows a 10-fold increase in SH emission matching theoretical estimate.
