A Walk on the Warped Side: Astrophysics with Gravitational Waves

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

With the discovery of gravitational waves from the binary black hole merger GW150914, the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-wave Observatory entered a new era in observational astrophysics. In this talk, I will discuss the astrophysical implications of this discovery as well as the status of searches for other promising sources of gravitational waves.
