Erbium-doped Mid-Infrared Fiber Lasers

Abstract

The performance of mid-infrared fiber lasers based on erbium has improved dramatically during the last few years. In this paper we will discuss the progress of a fiber laser that can operate on both the 3.5 μm transition and/or the more common 2.8 μm transition in erbium.
