Fiber Taper-coupled Micro Bottle Lasers

Abstract

An evanescently-pumped Yb3+-doped microbottle laser is demonstrated. Selective excitation of WGMs is achieved. Stable single-mode lasing is demonstrated to be possible by mode number reduction using index liquid droplets and focused ion beam milled-scatterers.
