Coherently Coupled Vertical Cavity Laser Arrays with Frequency Detuning and Asymmetric Gain Distribution

Abstract

By solving the coupled oscillator equations we study the effect of frequency detuning and asymmetric gain distribution on coherently coupled VCSEL arrays. Beam steering and parity-time symmetry breaking behavior has been predicted and experimentally observed.
